About this route

Stage 4 of the Steel & Cotton Rail Trail, running south from Edale through the Hope Valley to Hathersage. The route crosses open moorland before a sustained descent through Backside Wood to the valley floor, then rolls through the latter miles toward the finish. At 20k with 249 metres of climbing this is a proper long run — point-to-point from one rail station to the next.
